Basketball Team Building This is the starting point for ALL
organisations without exception. If you don’t know what you’re looking for
then chances are this is it. An
invaluable look at Disability which covers what disability is, an overview of
relevant Legislation (namely the Disability Discrimination Act) and do’s and
don’ts of interacting with disabled people. Sessions
with people sharing their own experiences of having an impairment and how to
support them in removing the barriers they face. Areas
covered are Mobility Impairment, Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment.
There is also an insight into the perspective of a carer. As above.
These course naturally complement one another and taken together as a full
day session prove invaluable to any organisation Disability Equality and Awareness As above but benefiting from an additional half day of practical
and informative sessions. Experts share their own experiences of having an
impairment and how to support them in removing the barriers they face. Areas
covered are Mobility Impairment, Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment.
There is also an insight into the perspective of a carer DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) This course
provides a better understanding of the DDA, what reasonable adjustments are
and how they relate to your business or organisation. Understanding
the act and your subsequent responsibilities is key to opening up your
service to disabled people and avoiding any potential legal action Employing Disabled People (DDA Part II) From
recruitment and selection through to retirement, the Disability
Discrimination Act provides a structure with which to improve your ability to
widen your pool of potential employees and make the most of the experience at
your disposal. There are a
number of issues around making this an effective process, which is why this
course as been developed. This course includes Managing Disability
Related Absences. Providing Goods and Services to disabled people(DDA
Part III) A look at
the legal issues organisations face when providing goods and services to the
general public. This course
goes into detail about how to understand and address this issues, but more
importantly how doing so can improve your business. Ideal for new staff, this session is
also the perfect update for staff who have been a while without training or
for those needing a broad overview of all the areas your organisation may
fall foul of the legislation. All major topics are covered: The DDA,
Employment, Service Provision, Access to Buildings, Human Rights, Disability
Equality Duty and most importantly how you benefit The Human Rights Act and Disability This course
has been developed for organisations affected by the Human Rights Act working
with disabled people. It gives an
overview and a practical, working insight into where human rights legislation
is particularly pertinent to disabled people. This
training will compliment Disability Equality Scheme’s and Action Plans This is a
condensed version of the full day Disability Equality and Awareness Session
covering 4 main areas: A practical definition of disability, Terminology, Experience
of wheelchair users and the carers perspective Absence Management and the DDA: Briefing Managing
Absences in itself is a time consuming and stressful process – but not paying
proper attention to the legal issues around disabled peoples availability for
work can be costly. This course
will show you how to properly balance the needs of your business with your
legal responsibilities and remove the stress and uncertainty of handling
absences of disabled staff and those with long term health conditions. Our walks,
talks, wheels and waffles are interactive training / auditing of your
services. With help from disabled people themselves we will give you a guided
tour of your own premises from the perspective of a disabled person;
highlighted areas that may be in breach of the legislation. Where breaches
are identified we will explain how the law works and provide you with advice
