Services for Service providers

There are two very good reasons for making sure you can offer your services to disabled people.

  1. The Disability Discrimination Act has a whole section (Part III) which relates entirely to making adjustments to the way you provide goods and services. Failing to make these adjustments in advance of a disabled customer needing them can result in potential legal action and significant payouts being made.
  2. Disabled People also represent a potential market with the spending power of somewhere in the region of £80 Billion (source: Department for Work and Pension 06).

So, it doesn't matter how big a service you are, from a corner shop to a supermarket chain or a high street bank, these are two extremely good arguments for making sure you are able to meet your obligations to your potential and existing customers.

The services below are the most applicable to service provision, but you also need to consider your responsibilities as an employer so be sure to take a look at that section also.
