The Disability Equality Duty and the specific duty of preparing and implementing a Disability Equality Scheme call for Impact Assessments of policies and procedures.
In order to assess the impact of these on disabled people it’s especially important to be aware of what barriers disabled people actually face. Not only that but be able to understand how to overcome these barriers.
