What is the Disability Discrimination Act?

In a nutshell: the Disability Discrimination Act is a piece of law that applies to the vast majority of businesses, organisations and groups in the UK.

It is split into several different parts but, if you're on this site, chances are there are two parts you need to be concerned with. These are:

The law says that it is illegal to treat a disabled person less favorably than a non-disabled person in these areas - and to make sure you don't treat them less favourably you have to make reasonable adjustments.

The process of identifying and / or implementing reasonable adjustments can be either very simple and straight forward or incredibly complex. The services we offer are based around helping you meet your obligations under the act.

You can learn more about the Disability Discrimination Act by attending our DDA or Employing Disabled People training courses or by visiting www.drc-gb.org (The DRC is the Disability Rights Commission which oversees the Disability Discrimination Act).
