Auditing If
you’re looking for an impartial breakdown of where your organization stands
in terms of legal compliance then you need an audit. Our audits enable you to
focus your spending exactly where it’s needed – we will prioritise what work you need to undertake to make sure you are not
in breach of any aspect of the law that applies to you. The reports we
produce will also outline any an explanation for where you may not be able to
make an adjustment. All
audits vary in complexity and work required and as such we cost all work
individually after sitting down with you and discussing your needs. These
written quotes are free of charge and carry no obligation. Physical Premises Audit As of 2004 it has been a legal
requirement to make anticipatory
alterations to physical features. This means that you have to make changes
before a disabled person needs them. The most effective way to do this is to
undertake a Nimbus Access Audit. We will visit your premises and,
following a detailed assessment of your facilities, provide you with a
written report making recommendations of where you need to make alterations.
All of our recommendations are referenced to a combination of legal
requirements under the DDA, Building Regulations, British Standards and Good
Practice. Our recommendations are then prioritized in order for you to be
able to address those that place you at the most substantial / immediate
risk. Policy and Procedure Audit Since the inception of the Disability
Discrimination Act it has been a requirement to make adjustments to policies
and procedures to ensure that there is no inadvertent detriment experienced
by disabled people. In the same vain as physical
adjustments these alterations are not easy to identify without the kind of
knowledge and experience possessed by Nimbus. To minimize risk it is vital to have
existing policies and procedures (especially those relating to employment such
as discipline and grievance) properly and impartially scrutinized. As with
our Access Audits we provide prioritized written reports and recommendations
of where change either is, or isn’t
required. Personnel Audit Particularly
relevant for the larger organisation is the issue of knowing what members of
your workforce might be protected by the Disability Discrimination Act. Arned
with this knowledge you will be able to properly ensure that you are
providing all of the adjustments required and not inadvertently breaching the
legislation. Like
our other audits we will identify staff that may qualify as being a
disabledperson in the eyes of the law and the make recommendations of what
adjustments may be required – even better: how to get them funded.
